The zero trust journey for Axiata Digital was all about least privilege to identity and access to networks and workloads, says Shankar Krishnan, CISO and group head of information security at the Malaysian multinational company.

Shankar says Axiata Digital wanted to ensure that the journey encompassed people, workloads and devices. "Our entire objective when we set out on this path was: How we can minimize our attack surface?" he says. "We are on cloud, and we wanted to cloud-enable zero trust so that we can privatize access to cloud."
