"A CISO is now expected to be both technically inclined to the newer technologies as well as aligned to the business. So it is a game a CISO has to balance out very efficiently," Talwar says.

"I believe a CISO role has taken a 360-degree turn. The boards are expecting a CISO to directly work with them in many organizations."

In a video interview with Information Security Media Group conducted as part of the CyberEdBoard's Profiles in Leadership series at ISMG's Cybersecurity Summit in New Delhi, Talwar also discusses:

  • Unique cybersecurity challenges of a manufacturing firm;
  • Technologies that excite him as a CISO;
  • Why OT security should be given its due.

Talwar is the global CISO at a manufacturing company, managing information and cyber security for the group. Previously, he has worked with companies including Aon, Adobe and Tower Research Capital.
