Profiles in Leadership: Narendra MainaliCISO Describes Critical Steps in Fight Against Cyberthreats
Collaboration and information sharing among stakeholders - and influencing them to take a proactive approach to cybersecurity - are critical steps in fighting against cyberthreats, says Narendra Mainali, CISO of NIC Asia Bank of Nepal.
“The achievement in my career as a CISO is that I can persuade the business segment, technology segment, operation segment, and every stakeholder that security risk professionals are here to support them in their jobs and not be an obstacle,” he says.
In a video interview with Information Security Media Group as part of the CyberEdBoard's ongoing Profiles in Leadership series, Mainali discusses:
- Why CISOs need to have a broad view of all cyber issues;
- How to establish a cyber culture and awareness;
- Tips on handling people, process and technology for enhanced security.
Mainali has been CISO of NIC ASIA Bank in Nepal for six years. He has over 15 years of experience in technology, including at financial institutions.
