Lessons From the First 100 Days on the Job as a CISO

The first 100 days for a new CISO are filled with challenges and opportunities to make a strong footprint. You need to improve incrementally, introduce transformational change and have gain visibility into all critical aspects of the organization, said Jacxine Fernandez, vice president of information security at Bangalore International Airport Ltd. and a presenter this week at the C0c0n conference in Kochi, India.

Good metrics are crucial to success, said Fernandez, who has spent more than two decades in cybersecurity. "The first step is to create a dashboard of what is visible and understand the reason and business objective of the organization that has hired you as a CISO. It is imperative to identify and assess the need and address it," he said.
