Good metrics are crucial to success, said Fernandez, who has spent more than two decades in cybersecurity. "The first step is to create a dashboard of what is visible and understand the reason and business objective of the organization that has hired you as a CISO. It is imperative to identify and assess the need and address it," he said.
In this interview with Information Security Media Group, as part of the ISMG’s media partnership with the C0c0n@16 hacking conference, Fernandez discussed:
- Key themes at the C0c0n conference;
- How CISOs apply their past experiences in the first 100 days with a new organization;
- Top priorities for CISOs.
Fernandez is a risk management, information security and business continuity professional with experience in managing these areas in complex IT environments. He previously worked with the Adani Group, Zain, Bharti Airtel, and five other companies across the Middle East and Africa.
