Security Beyond the Perimeter

Julian Lovelock of HID Global
Security leaders know their old perimeter-based security models are insufficient. But what new model is best? And how can it reduce reliance on passwords for authentication? Julian Lovelock of HID Global offers insight.

The challenge is that password-based systems have proven to be the lowest common denominator of security, says Lovelock, senior director of ecosystems and solutions in HID's identity assurance group. What new authentication technology can replace passwords and be embraced as broadly?

In an interview recorded at RSA Conference 2013, Lovelock discusses HID's newest ActivID Appliance product release, as well as new trends and solutions for:

  • Corporate IT:
  • Online banking;
  • The government sector

Julian Lovelock is VP of marketing of Identity Assurance with HID Global, and is responsible for defining and bringing to market products across the company's identity assurance portfolio. Lovelock joined HID Global (then ActivIdentity) in 2005 as part of the acquisition of ASPACE Solutions where he was CTO and co-founder. He holds a BENG in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Aston, UK.
