Card Not Present Fraud

The Role of Omnichannel Risk Analysis

Carol Alexander of CA on Fraud Prevention
The Role of Omnichannel Risk Analysis

Risk analysis is at the core of most card fraud prevention platforms used today, says Carol Alexander of CA Technologies. But what if the industry could take the lessons it's learned in risk analysis of card payments to other channels, enabling banking institutions to more readily identify potentially fraudulent transactions before they happen? This is the vision of omnichannel risk analysis, Alexander says.

In this audio interview at RSA Conference 2017, Alexander discusses:

  • How the migration of fraud to the online channel is fueling risk analysis;
  • Why frictionless fraud prevention, which does not inconvenience the cardholder, is so important; and
  • How omnichannel risk analysis can fill the gaps left by weak authentication that relies on knowledge-based questions and weak passwords.

Before joining CA, where she serves as senior director of product marketing for payment security authentication, Alexander was vice president of worldwide marketing at Check Point Software Technologies and vice president of Marketing at Arcot Systems.
