Peraton's Lonnie Price on Lessons Learned From 38 Years in Government Service
Why Cyber Defenders Need Partnerships, Tools and Education

Since Russia began using cyberattacks in its war with Ukraine, we have seen how moving to the cloud has increased cyber resiliency, said Lonnie Price, vice president of cyber and information warfare at Peraton. Price also credited private sector and public sector collaborators for supporting the Ukrainians in the war effort.

"One of the things I've learned in my 38 years of government service is that we could not accomplish our missions without strong industry partnership," he said.

In this episode of CyberEd.io's podcast series "Cybersecurity Insights," Price discusses:

  • The impact of the Russia-Ukraine war on the cybersecurity landscape;
  • How to help human cyber defenders stay afloat in an ocean of data;
  • How education affects our ability - or inability - to defend ourselves.

Price leads Peraton's corporate strategy for cyber and information warfare. He drives the development of advanced cyber solutions across offensive and defensive cyber operations and information operations. Price has extensive expertise in cyber, technical countermeasures, counterintelligence, counterterrorism, threat analysis, cyber investigations/forensics, and emerging technologies including the internet of things. Prior to joining Peraton, he served in senior roles in the U.S. Department of State, including 17 years overseas in more than 100 countries managing security risks at U.S. embassies.
