Nitin Varma, managing director, India and SAARC, CrowdStrike

The first step toward consolidation is to tap the endpoints, which is a common domain, to integrate multiple agents for building visibility and reducing operational friction.

"XDR converts alerts from one domain into a full incident and is able to give a context to an analyst for faster investigation, detection and response side, and that is how it's a great tool for the SOC guys," Varma said. "From a security standpoint, it helps you simplify and reduce complexity."

In this video interview with Information Security Media Group, Varma also discussed:

  • How XDR is facilitating the platform-centric approach in simplifying security;
  • The applications of generative AI in threat detection;
  • New ways to approach cybersecurity with the right investments.

Varma has more than 20 years of leadership experience in sales, operations and strategy. He has held multiple industry positions in enterprise, telecom and communications businesses and has managed large businesses at the national level.
