Author Stuart Brotman Offers Advice on Protecting the Corporate Data Environment
Digital privacy and cybersecurity adviser Stuart Brotman says a “multidimensional approach” to digital privacy protection is required because “law and regulation are not the ultimate solution.”
Brotman, an attorney and author, also recommends CISOs work closely with other departments in their organizations, such as marketing, legal and human resources, so that employees are “better educated … on all of the mechanisms that can protect the corporate data environment.”

Brotman, author of the new book, "Privacy's Perfect Storm: Digital Policy for Post-Pandemic Times," served as fellow in the Science and Technology Innovation Program at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington, focusing on digital privacy policy issues. He serves on the advisory board of the Future of Privacy Forum. Brotman has published widely on digital privacy and cybersecurity topics, including in the Columbia Journal of International Affairs, the Fletcher Forum of Global Affairs, the Vanderbilt Journal of Entertainment and Technology Law, The Hill, Government Executive, Inside Sources, The Urbanist, Bloomberg Law, the New York Daily News and the San Francisco Chronicle.
