Security product leader Lou Fiorello said ServiceNow will use generative AI to leverage its presence across the entire enterprise and nudge non-security practitioners to do the right thing from a security perspective. ServiceNow plans to capitalize on generative AI to help organizations improve their security posture and drive cost savings and productivity improvements, according to Fiorello (see: Cyber Resilience Requires Complete Visibility).
"We're going to help you scale to increasing incident or vulnerability volumes with the teams and the tools you have in place today. That's the outcome we're driving today," Fiorello said. "Generative AI is going to take those outcomes and it's going to help double them or 10x them. I don't think it's going to necessarily introduce new outcomes, but I think it's really going to help us scale on those outcomes."
In this video interview with Information Security Media Group, Fiorello also discussed:
- The biggest generative AI challenges and opportunities for security practitioners;
- How generative AI builds on more traditional forms of AI that are pervasive in security tools;
- Why ServiceNow's security portfolio focuses on attack surface and case management.
Fiorello is responsible for ServiceNow's portfolio of security orchestration and response and risk-based vulnerability management products. He has more than 20 years of experience in the technology industry, building products and working with customers to drive outcomes, including seven years leading product management at Symantec and five years as a product manager and business development manager at Veritas.
