Machine learning can play a critical role in quickly identifying cyberthreats, says Debasish Mukherjee of SonicWall, who describes a strategy.

"We have been using machine learning technology and an advanced learning technology to find out what exactly is the type of threat and how we can mitigate," he says.

In a video interview at Information Security Media Group's recent Fraud and Breach Summit in Bengaluru, Mukherjee also discusses:

  • Enhancing network visibility;
  • How machine learning and artificial intelligence will help in fast detection of breaches;
  • How well prepared security practitioners are for dealing with real-time threats.

Mukherjee is regional director, India and SAARC, at Sonicwall. He has more than 18 years of experience throughout in IT industry, the last seven in data security. He previously worked as a regional solution manager at Dell.
